Lutheran Charities and its affiliated organizations provide annual funding for area programs and projects according to the following criteria:

  • Lutheran Charities of Western New York underwrites non-salary grant funding on behalf of regional Lutheran outreach ministries and Christian-based social services providing education, health-care and social support benefitting the underprivileged in Niagara and Erie counties.
  • The St. John’s Lutheran Home for Children perpetuates its historical ministry by providing grant funding to programs within the 4th Judicial Department of New York benefitting children and youth under the age of 18.
  • The Lutheran Foundation of Western New York provides grant funding to Lutheran congregations of the Niagara Frontier Conference to help better serve their communities through outreach programs.
  • The Christ and Redeemer Church Funds provide grant funding on behalf of Lutheran and Christian-based social-ministry programs serving people in the City of Buffalo.

Completed applications must be received time-stamped by Friday September 30, 2022, 12:00 pm.

Applications that are incomplete, missing any supporting documentation or received past the deadline will not be considered for funding.

Programs/projects awarded grant funding are required to submit progress and expenditure reports in May and October of the funding year. Please note that past funding by Lutheran Charities or receipt of this letter is no indication your agency will receive funding in 2023.
